As Somerset and Mills begin to uncover the killer's identity, they realize that he is using the seven deadly sins as his modus operandi. The killer's ultimate goal is to "teach" the world a lesson by revealing how corruption and sin can lead to destruction. In the end, the killer succeeds in his plan, leaving Somerset to ponder the value of justice.
