Rocky is a 1976 American sports drama film directed by John G. Avildsen and written by and starring Sylvester Stallone. It tells the rags-to-riches American Dream story of Rocky Balboa, an uneducated but kind-hearted working class Italian-American boxer working as a debt collector for a loan shark in the slums of Philadelphia. Rocky gets a shot at the world heavyweight championship when the reigning champion, Apollo Creed, takes an interest in him and offers him a shot at his title. With the help of trainer Mickey Goldmill, Rocky strives to go the distance against Creed, even after taking a punishing beating. In the end, Rocky's determination and will to win earns him the respect of his opponent and the adoration of the boxing-mad public.

Gattaca is a science fiction film set in a dystopian future where genetic engineering has become the norm. Despite his disability, Vincent succeeds in the rigorous training program, only to be confronted by a murder investigation that threatens to expose his identity. He must use his wit and determination to prove his innocence and make his dream a reality.
