Thor: Ragnarok is a 2017 superhero film directed by Taika Waititi. It is the sequel to Thor (2011) and Thor: The Dark World (2013). The film follows Thor (Chris Hemsworth) as he teams up with his former ally and fellow Avenger, Bruce Banner/the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), to save his home world of Asgard from the villainous Hela (Cate Blanchett). Thor must also prove himself worthy by winning a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger, the Incredible Hulk. Along the way, Thor encounters new allies and old enemies including Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) and Heimdall (Idris Elba). Together they must fight to protect Asgard and the universe from the forces of evil. Ultimately, Thor must embrace his true identity and destiny as the God of Thunder.
