Aladdin uses the Genie's magic to win the heart of the beautiful Princess Jasmine, while also battling the wicked Grand Vizier Jafar. The film is filled with comedy, adventure, music, romance, and magical effects. Aladdin was the first Disney animated film to cross the $200 million mark at the box office, winning many awards and becoming one of the most beloved Disney films of all time.

The film revolves around the court-martial of two U.S. Marines accused of murder for their involvement in the hazing death of a fellow Marine at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba. The film follows Navy lawyer Lieutenant Daniel Kaffee (Cruise) and his attempt to defend the two Marines, Private First Class Louden Downey (Wolfgang Bodison) and Lance Corporal Harold Dawson (Michael DeLorenzo) against charges of murder, aided by Lieutenant Commander JoAnne Galloway (Moore). Kaffee, who is known for his ability to plea bargain, initially intends to plea bargain the case away, but is persuaded by Galloway to actually defend the Marines. He eventually discovers a conspiracy within the base involving the hazing death, and is forced to confront the formidable Colonel Nathan Jessup (Nicholson), who is ultimately responsible for the death. The film was a box office success, and was nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Reiner received an Academy Award nomination for Best Director, and Nicholson won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance
