Rocco and His Brothers is a 1960 Italian neorealist drama film directed by Luchino Visconti. Along the way, Dirk meets and is mentored by successful porn director Jack Horner, has a passionate romance with porn actress Amber Waves, and befriends a variety of other colorful characters. Boogie Nights features a large ensemble cast of characters, including Mark Wahlberg, Julianne Moore, Burt Reynolds, Heather Graham, Don Cheadle, William H. Macy, John C. Reilly, and Philip Seymour Hoffman. The film was critically acclaimed and was nominated for three Academy Awards, including Best Supporting Actor for Reynolds. Boogie Nights has since achieved cult status, with its unique look at the porn industry of the 1970s and its complex and well-developed characters.
