The film is an exploration of the bond between a father and daughter, and it won an Oscar for Tatum O'Neal as the youngest ever person to be awarded an Oscar.

Along the way, they come across a variety of characters from Suzy's three eccentric siblings to a kindly police officer and a wise old man who helps guide them in their journey. In the end, the couple decide to stay together, forever. Moonrise Kingdom is a whimsical and charming film that captures the joy and innocence of first love. Wes Anderson's signature style of artfully composed shots, vivid colors and quirky characters makes this film a delight to watch.
