Along her journey, she encounters a number of formidable opponents, including the leader of the DiVAS, Bill (David Carradine). Kill Bill: Vol. 1 is praised for its highly stylized action sequences, unique cinematography, and satirical homage to grindhouse films.

The film follows Thor, who must prevent the destruction of Asgard and its people at the hands of his sister Hela, the Goddess of Death, who seeks to bring about Ragnarok, the destruction of all the gods and the end of Asgard. In order to save his home, Thor must enlist the help of the Hulk, his former ally and fellow Avenger, and the sorceress, Valkyrie, to battle against Hela and her minions. Along the way, they must face off against the fire demon Surtur, as well as the planet Sakaar's ruler, the Grandmaster. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Mark Ruffalo, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, and Karl Urban. It was met with positive reviews from critics and was a box office success, grossing $854 million on a budget of $180 million.

The story follows the two characters as they form the X-Men, a team of superheroes tasked with preventing a global nuclear war between the Soviet Union and the United States. Along the way, they must battle the villainous Sebastian Shaw (Kevin Bacon), a powerful mutant who seeks to start the war. The film also introduces several new mutants, including Havok (Lucas Till), Beast (Nicholas Hoult), and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence). The X-Men must not only combat Shaw, but also overcome their own differences—Charles is a pacifist, while Erik is searching for revenge. In the end, the X-Men are successful in their mission and post-credits scenes hint at a sequel.
