Jaws is a 1975 classic thriller film directed by Steven Spielberg. Based on the novel by Peter Benchley, the movie follows the island community of Amity as they face an unseen enemy in the form of a massive great white shark. Chief Brody (Roy Scheider) is a police officer who is charged with protecting Amity from this threat. Along with shark expert Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) and the eccentric shark hunter Quint (Robert Shaw), Chief Brody sets out to hunt and destroy the shark, resulting in an epic battle of man against nature. The film is an iconic classic that has become a classic in the genre of thrillers and shark films, setting the standard for the modern summer blockbuster.
