One Cut of the Dead is a 2017 Japanese horror-comedy film directed by Shin'ichirô Ueda. The story follows an amateur film crew that has been hired to shoot a low-budget zombie movie at an abandoned water filtration plant. As the crew begins filming, they are attacked by real zombies, and the director must find a way to turn the chaos into a successful horror film. As the film progresses, it is revealed that the events were planned by the director in an effort to create a unique zombie movie unlike any other. Through the use of guerrilla filming techniques and improvisation, the crew is able to capture some truly unique shots and the film becomes a cult classic.

Train to Busan is a South Korean zombie horror movie directed by Sang-ho Yeon. The film follows a group of passengers who are aboard a high-speed train from Seoul to Busan during a zombie outbreak. On the train, the passengers must fight for survival as the zombies quickly spread throughout the carriages. The group is led by Seok-woo (Gong Yoo), a workaholic fund manager on his way to Busan to meet his estranged daughter, Su-an (Kim Su-an). He is joined by a diverse group of characters including a tough sailor (Ma Dong-seok), a pregnant woman (Jung Yu-mi), a homeless man (Choi Gwi-hwa), and a high school baseball team. The passengers must not only fight off the zombies, but also contend with selfish and cowardly human survivors. In the end, only a few passengers survive, with Su-an being the sole survivor of the train.
