The Warrens come to the assistance of the Perron family, who are experiencing increasingly disturbing events in their farmhouse in Rhode Island in 1971. The film depicts the supernatural events that occurred in the house, as the Warrens uncover an evil presence that had been terrorizing the family. They battle to save the family from the malicious spirits and prevent them from being permanently terrorized. The film received positive reviews from critics and grossed over $319 million worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing horror films of all time.
