Wild Tales is a 2014 Argentinian dark comedy anthology film written, produced and directed by Damián Szifron. It tells six unrelated stories in sequence, each with a different style and tone, but connected by the central theme of revenge. The first story follows a road-rage incident in which a man takes revenge against a driver who wronged him. The second story follows a wealthy landowner who learns that a family of itinerant workers has squatted on his property. The third story follows a waiter who discovers that a customer has stiffed him on his tip. The fourth story follows a woman who is forced to confront a former lover in an embarrassing situation on a plane. The fifth story follows a demolition expert who is hired to demolish a building, only to find out that his target is his own childhood home. The sixth and final story follows a group of strangers who are caught up in a chaotic chain of events in the middle of a rural Argentine town. The film was widely acclaimed by critics, who praised Szifron’s direction, the performances of the cast, and the darkly comic tone. It won the Grand Prix at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film
