The Muppet Christmas Carol is a musical comedy-drama film released in 1992, directed by Brian Henson, and based on the 1843 novella by Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol. The film follows a version of the classic story, with the Muppets playing the roles of the characters from the original story. Michael Caine portrays Ebenezer Scrooge, and other Muppets playing roles such as Bob Cratchit, Mrs. Cratchit, the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present, and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come. The film follows a version of the classic story, with Scrooge being visited by various spirits on Christmas Eve. He is shown visions of his past and present, and learns of the consequences if he doesn't change his ways. In the end, Scrooge learns the true meaning of Christmas and has a change of heart, becoming a kinder and more generous person. The film is filled with memorable holiday songs, as well as some classic Muppet comedy.

The Secret of NIMH is a 1982 animated fantasy adventure film directed by Don Bluth. The film is based on Robert C. O'Brien's 1971 children's novel Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH. It follows a widowed field mouse named Mrs. Brisby who must move her home to protect her son from the farmer plowing the field. To save her son, Mrs. Brisby seeks the aid of an extraordinary group of rats who live in a mysterious building known as NIMH. The rats are revealed to be former laboratory animals who have used their newly acquired intelligence to make their escape. With their help, Mrs. Brisby must come up with a plan to move her family before the farmer returns. Along the way, Mrs. Brisby discovers the secret of NIMH and the reason the rats were experimented on by the scientists. With courage and determination, Mrs. Brisby is able to save her family and the rats of NIMH.
