Delicatessen is a 1991 French dark comedy directed by Marc Caro and Jean-Pierre Jeunet. The film is set in a post-apocalyptic world where food is scarce and the only job available is working as a handyman for a cruel landlord. The landlord runs a delicatessen in the basement of his building, but what his tenants don't know is that he is actually a butcher who murders his tenants and sells their meat to unsuspecting customers. The film follows the handyman, Clapet, and his budding romance with Julie, a young woman who moves into the building. As Clapet and Julie become closer, they discover the landlord's sinister plot and team up with the other tenants to plot their escape.
