A Day at the Races is a classic Marx Brothers comedy directed by Sam Wood. In the film, Groucho, Chico, and Harpo compete to help a beautiful young woman (Maureen O'Sullivan) and her sanitarium save its horse-racing track from the villainous Mr. Whitmore (Sig Ruman). Along the way they run into a variety of hilarious and zany characters, including a crooked doctor, a bumbling detective, and a mad scientist. They also perform several memorable musical numbers, including "The One-ton Tomato with the Thousand-pound Peel" and "Animal Crackers in My Soup." The film culminates with a climactic horse race that ends with unexpected results.
