Ben-Hur is a classic epic movie directed by William Wyler, released in 1959. The story follows Judah Ben-Hur, a Jewish prince from Jerusalem, in the time of the Roman Empire. After his childhood friend Messala, now a high-ranking Roman commander, accuses him of treason, Judah is forced into slavery and sent to the galleys. After many years, Judah makes his escape and returns to Jerusalem. He discovers his mother and sister have been imprisoned, and takes a vow of revenge. He enters a chariot race to challenge his old friend, and ultimately gains his freedom and his revenge. Along the way, Judah's faith in God is tested, and ultimately strengthened, as he learns to forgive his enemies.
