United 93 is a 2006 American docudrama film directed by Paul Greengrass recounting the events of United Airlines Flight 93 during the September 11 attacks in 2001. The film begins with the actual audio recordings of transmissions from the cockpit crew, air traffic controllers, and military personnel. It then follows the passengers and crew of United Airlines Flight 93, who learn through phone calls that other planes have been hijacked and used as weapons. Together, the passengers and crew attempt to take control of the plane from the hijackers and reclaim their fate. The film ends with the plane crashing in a Pennsylvania field, as the passengers and crew sacrifice their lives in an effort to prevent a possible attack on Washington, D.C. United 93 ultimately manages to capture the reality of the events on that fateful day, and serves as an emotional tribute to the passengers and crew of United Airlines Flight 93.

Fahrenheit 9/11 is a 2004 American documentary film directed by Michael Moore. The film takes a critical look at the presidency of George W. Bush, its justification for the 2003 invasion of Iraq, and its aftermath. It also looks at the media's portrayal of Bush. It goes on to explore the manipulation of public opinion by the Bush administration regarding the war and other controversial issues. The documentary features interviews with individuals from various backgrounds, including government officials, military personnel, and victims of the war. It also includes footage from news reports, as well as previously unseen footage of President Bush. The film won the prestigious Palme d'Or at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival, becoming the first documentary to do so. The film was also nominated for two Academy Awards.
