Terminator 2: Judgment Day is a 1991 science fiction action film directed by James Cameron and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Robert Patrick, and Edward Furlong. It is the sequel to the 1984 film The Terminator. The film follows Sarah Connor and her ten-year-old son John, who are targeted by a more advanced Terminator, the T-1000, sent back in time to kill John and prevent the future he will lead, as well as to terminate Sarah Connor. To protect themselves, Sarah and John enlist the help of an identical outwardly appearance but less advanced Terminator, the T-800. Together they must triumph over the technologically superior T-1000 in order to ensure that the future will be safe.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is the second movie in the Star Trek franchise, directed by Nicholas Meyer. Set 15 years after the original series, Admiral James T. Kirk (William Shatner) is now an instructor at Starfleet Academy, while Spock (Leonard Nimoy) is the commander of a scientific research vessel. The movie begins with a surprise attack on the Enterprise by Khan (Ricardo Montalban), a genetically engineered tyrant from the distant past of the 20th century, who seeks revenge on Kirk for marooning him and his followers on a barren planet. Khan is determined to get his revenge and obtain a powerful device known as "The Genesis Project", which can terraform lifeless worlds into paradise. After a series of battles, Kirk manages to defeat Khan and prevent him from getting the Genesis Device. The film ends with Spock sacrificing his life to prevent the Enterprise from being destroyed, and Kirk coming to terms with his grief. The film is widely considered to be the best of the Star Trek movies, and is praised for its powerful themes of friendship, loyalty, and sacrifice.
