Into the Wild is a 2007 biographical drama film written and directed by Sean Penn. It is an adaptation of the 1996 non-fiction book of the same name by Jon Krakauer, which tells the story of Christopher McCandless, a college graduate who sets off on an odyssey across North America in April 1992. He abandons his car, burns all of his money, and hitchhikes his way to the Alaskan wilderness, where he will spend the next four months alone. Along the way, he meets and interacts with a variety of people, some of whom help him on his journey, while others prove to be obstacles. The film follows Christopher's journey of discovery and self-discovery, and ultimately examines the ideals of freedom and living life to its fullest.

As the movie progresses, Jamal's story reveals the harsh realities of poverty and inequality in India, as well as themes of friendship, resilience, and hope.
