The Wizard of Oz is a 1939 American musical fantasy film directed by Victor Fleming, George Cukor, Mervyn LeRoy, Norman Taurog, Richard Thorpe, and King Vidor. The film follows Dorothy, a young girl living on a farm in Kansas, as she is swept away by a tornado and magically transported to the fantasy land of Oz. Along the way, she meets a Scarecrow, a Tin Man, and a Cowardly Lion, and they all set out together to meet the Wizard of Oz, who they hope will help Dorothy find her way home. Along the way, they must face numerous obstacles, including the Wicked Witch of the West, the Flying Monkeys, and the various creatures of Oz. Eventually, Dorothy and her friends are able to defeat the Wicked Witch and receive the help they were promised from the Wizard. With the help of her newfound friends, Dorothy is eventually able to find her way back home to Kansas.
