Dead Alive (1992) is a horror-comedy film written and directed by Peter Jackson. The film follows Lionel, a young man whose mother is bitten by a Sumatran Rat-Monkey and turns into a zombie. Lionel goes to great lengths to hide his mother's zombie state from the authorities and his nosy landlady. However, when the zombie plague spreads, Lionel must fight for his life as he battles hordes of the undead. Along the way, Lionel falls in love with a local girl, Paquita, and must find a way to stop the zombie invasion before it is too late. Dead Alive is a comedic take on the zombie genre, featuring over-the-top gore and special effects to create a unique and entertaining experience.
