The Town is a 2010 crime drama directed by Ben Affleck. It follows a group of bank robbers from Boston's Charlestown neighborhood. The leader of the group, Doug MacRay (Affleck), falls for a bank manager (Rebecca Hall) who had been taken hostage during one of the robberies. To protect her, Doug and his crew abandon their criminal ways. However, they soon find themselves pursued by a seasoned FBI agent (Jon Hamm) who is determined to bring them to justice. This leads to a thrilling cat-and-mouse game as they both struggle to stay one step ahead of the law. The film is ultimately a story of redemption as Doug must choose between a life of crime and a chance at love and a better life.
