300 is a historical action film directed by Zack Snyder and based on the 1998 graphic novel of the same name by Frank Miller. Despite being vastly outnumbered, the Spartans manage to hold the Persians at bay until a traitor reveals a hidden pass that allows the Persians to flank the Spartans, leading to their demise. The story is interwoven with a romantic sub-plot between Queen Gorgo of Sparta and the Athenian politician Theron. The film features stylized visuals and intense battle sequences, and highlights themes such as heroism and sacrifice.
