Dead Alive is a 1992 horror comedy film directed by Peter Jackson. It follows the story of Lionel Cosgrove, a young man living under the domineering rule of his mother, who is slowly being driven mad by the horrific events occurring around her. When Lionel's mother is bitten by a Sumatran Rat-Monkey, she begins to transform into an undead creature and takes control of the local town, prompting Lionel to fight for his own survival. Along the way, he enlists the help of a mad priest and a bevy of zombies in order to battle his zombie mother and the hordes of undead creatures that she has created. In the end, after a wild and bloody battle, Lionel is able to save the day and restore the town to its former glory.
