The crew fights off the zombies while trying to finish the film. The film takes an unexpected twist when it is revealed that the first 37 minutes of the movie is part of a larger film-within-a-film. The rest of the movie chronicles the real-life struggles of the crew to finish their movie. The movie ultimately ends on a heartwarming note, with the crew successfully completing their film and the audience applauding their effort. One Cut of the Dead is an acclaimed horror-comedy that has won numerous awards and has become a cult classic.

With the help of a local priest, Lionel must battle the zombie menace in a wild and bloody battle. The movie is full of grisly special effects and dark comedy, making it a cult classic.
