Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) is a sci-fi horror film directed by Don Siegel. In a small California town, a mysterious alien force is taking over the bodies of the townspeople, replacing them with emotionless clones. As the population of clones grows, few of the original residents are aware of the insidious danger. Forbidden Planet is a 1956 science fiction film directed by Fred M. Wilcox and starring Walter Pidgeon, Anne Francis and Leslie Nielsen. Set in the distant future of the 23rd century, the story revolves around a United Planets cruiser sent to a distant planet, Altair IV, on a mission to discover why the crew of a previous expedition had disappeared. The planet is inhabited by a race of alien scientists, the Krell, who are long since deceased but have left behind an incredible technology. Accompanying the crew is Dr. Morbius and his daughter Altaira. Morbius warns them of a mysterious invisible force that killed the previous crew, and the crew must discover what it is and how to protect themselves from it. In the end, the crew discovers the identity of the force, a powerful and dangerous creature created by the Krell as a form of protection. In a climactic battle, the crew defeats the creature and is able to leave the planet unharmed.
