Joker is a 2019 psychological thriller directed by Todd Phillips and starring Joaquin Phoenix. After being disrespected and marginalized by society, Arthur finds an outlet for his frustration in the form of crime and chaos, eventually becoming a symbol of anarchy and revolution. The film is a dark character study of a villain, examining society's complicity in creating its own villains and the consequences of unchecked hatred and despair.
