The film stars Jack Nicholson and follows the story of a criminal, Randle McMurphy, who is sent to a psychiatric hospital for evaluation. McMurphy quickly realizes that the head nurse, Nurse Ratched, is a tyrannical figure and he instantly challenges her authority. Along the way, he befriends the other patients and encourages them to rebel against the oppressive atmosphere of the hospital, inspiring them to take control of their own lives. In the end, McMurphy's rebellious spirit proves to be too much for the hospital and he is tragically taken away in a shocking conclusion.

The Silence of the Lambs won five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress for Jodie Foster’s performance.
