Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl is a 2003 American swashbuckler fantasy film directed by Gore Verbinski. It follows the story of Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) and Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) as they search for the cursed Black Pearl and its undead crew, led by the infamous Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush). As Jack and Will try to reclaim the Pearl and break the curse, they must battle the British Royal Navy, magical supernatural forces, and a host of enemies, including Barbossa. Along the way, they gain help from the spirited Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) and a debonair pirate named Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp). The film is an action-packed, thrilling adventure with plenty of humor, romance, and heart.

Phillips must use his wit and courage to survive the ordeal and protect his crew, leading to a dramatic standoff between the pirates and U.S. Navy. The film was a critical and commercial success and it earned Tom Hanks an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.

The film follows their adventures as they battle against their enemies and try to gain justice for the oppressed.
