The film is a sequel to the 1984 movie The Terminator. The story follows a cyborg, sent back in time to protect Sarah Connor and her son, John Connor, from a more advanced Terminator, sent to kill them. Sarah and John team up with the cyborg to save themselves from the destruction that awaits them. Along the way, they confront a powerful artificial intelligence system, which is determined to obliterate all of humanity. Terminator 2: Judgment Day is widely considered one of the greatest action movies of all time. It was met with critical and commercial success and won 4 Academy Awards, including Best Visual Effects and Best Makeup. The film also spawned a number of sequels and spin-offs, as well as a theme park ride.
