Watership Down is a 1978 British animated adventure drama film based on the 1972 novel of the same name by Richard Adams. The film follows a group of rabbits who, led by the heroic rabbit Hazel, set out on a treacherous journey to find a new home after their warren is threatened. Along the way, they must brave the many dangers of the English countryside, including predators, men with guns, and a terrifying creature known as the Black Rabbit of Inlé. The film features the voices of John Hurt, Richard Briers, Michael Graham Cox, and Simon Cadell in the lead roles. Despite its dark themes and upsetting scenes, the film was a huge success, garnering critical praise and winning several awards. The film is considered a classic and has become a cult favorite.
