No Man's Land is a 2001 Bosnian-language drama film written and directed by Danis Tanović. Set during the Siege of Sarajevo in the Bosnian War, it tells the story of two soldiers, one Bosnian and one Serb, who find themselves caught in a tense stalemate in the no man's land between their respective trenches. The comedy-drama follows their attempts to find a way out of the situation without further violence. It also deals with the reactions of the media and the United Nations towards the war, as well as the issue of post-traumatic stress disorder among the veterans of the war. The film won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 2001.
