The Piano Teacher is a 2001 Austrian drama film written and directed by Michael Haneke. It stars Isabelle Huppert as Erika Kohut, a highly-regarded music professor at a prestigious Vienna conservatory. Erika is a repressed and isolated woman, who lives with her domineering mother and is stuck in a loveless and passionless existence.
