The Birds follows the story of Melanie Daniels (Tippi Hedren), a wealthy socialite who meets Mitch Brenner (Rod Taylor) in a San Francisco pet store. After a brief flirtation, Mitch asks Melanie to come with him to his family's home in Bodega Bay, California. On the way, they experience numerous instances of birds attacking them and their fellow travelers. Melanie and Mitch soon discover that the birds of Bodega Bay have begun to act strangely and are attacking the town's inhabitants. It becomes clear that a mysterious force is controlling the birds and causing them to act out in violent ways. With the help of a local naturalist, the townspeople attempt to rid the town of the birds. As the birds become more aggressive, Melanie and Mitch must figure out a way to survive the terrifying onslaught.

The Incredible Shrinking Man is a 1957 science fiction horror film directed by Jack Arnold. It stars Grant Williams as Scott Carey, a man who is exposed to a radioactive cloud and slowly begins to shrink. As he gets smaller and smaller, Scott must fight for survival from cats, spiders and his own frustrated wife, Louise. The film follows his struggles as he must adapt to his smaller size and find a way to stop the shrinking process. Along the way, he confronts existential questions about man's place in the universe. Ultimately, he discovers the strength of the human spirit and the power of the individual.
