The Thing is a 1982 science fiction horror film directed by John Carpenter. It tells the story of a research team in the Antarctic who encounter a parasitic extraterrestrial lifeform that assimilates and imitates other organisms. The team is overtaken by fear as they attempt to contain the shape-shifting creature and to figure out who is infected and who is still human. As paranoia becomes rampant, the crew must battle the elements, as well as their own mistrust of each other, in order to prevent the creature from escaping and potentially destroying the world.

Let the Right One In is a 2008 Swedish romantic horror film directed by Tomas Alfredson. It is an adaptation of the 2004 novel of the same name by John Ajvide Lindqvist, who also wrote the screenplay. The film follows the story of a bullied 12-year-old boy, Oskar, living with his mother in a suburb of Stockholm, and Eli, a mysterious girl who moves in next door. Eli is actually a vampire, and forms a close bond with Oskar as they struggle to survive in the face of her being hunted by a group of bullies and a strange man. Together, they confront the darkness of the outside world and find solace in each other. By the end of the film, Oskar is able to break out of the cycle of violence and Eli is shown to be a child-like figure, who is struggling to keep herself alive. As they both find the strength to keep going, their friendship turns into a powerful and unexpected love.

Train to Busan is a 2016 South Korean zombie horror film directed by Sang-ho Yeon. The film follows a group of passengers on a bullet train, as they face a terrifying zombie outbreak while trying to survive the journey to Busan. The main protagonist, Seok-woo (Gong Yoo), is a workaholic father who is taking his young daughter Su-an (Kim Su-an) to see her mother in Busan. Along the way, they encounter a variety of characters, all of whom are struggling to survive the outbreak and make it safely to Busan. As the situation on the train becomes increasingly dire, the passengers must rely on each other to survive. In the end, the group must make a heroic last stand to reach Busan and escape the zombies.
