As they try to protect the daughters of a British colonel, they must fight against the oppressive powers of the French military. Along the way, Hawkeye falls in love with one of the daughters, Cora, and the brothers fight valiantly to protect their homeland and their way of life. In the end, the story celebrates the strength and courage of the Mohican people, even in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.
