Along the way, Turing must also contend with his own personal struggles, as he is ostracized for his homosexuality and his attempts to keep it a secret from his colleagues. The film stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Turing and Keira Knightley as Joan Clarke, a fellow code-breaker who aids Turing in his quest to crack the Enigma code. The Imitation Game is a powerful and emotional exploration of Turing's life, his importance in the war effort, and his legacy as a pioneer in computer science.
