The Shining is a 1980 psychological horror film directed by Stanley Kubrick. Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) takes a job as the caretaker of the Overlook Hotel in the Colorado Rockies, despite warnings from a mysterious hotel manager. Jack is accompanied by his wife Wendy (Shelley Duvall) and son Danny (Danny Lloyd). Danny, who possesses "the shining", is able to see disturbing visions of the hotel's dark past. Jack begins to descend into madness as the hotel's supernatural forces begin to take hold of him. He begins to envision gruesome events from the hotel's past, and is driven by an increasing urge to murder his family. Wendy and Danny must find a way to survive the terror and outwit Jack before it's too late.

The Sixth Sense tells the story of a troubled young boy, Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment), who is plagued by visions of the dead. Initially dismissed by his psychologist, Dr. Malcolm Crowe (Bruce Willis), Cole eventually comes to understand that he is able to communicate with the spirits of those who have passed on. With the help of Dr. Crowe, Cole is able to confront his fears and help the ghosts that are haunting him find peace and closure. In the end, Cole learns a powerful lesson of courage and acceptance, and the audience is left with a haunting, powerful climax.

The Innocents is a classic horror film, directed by Jack Clayton and based on Henry James's novella, The Turn of the Screw. When three new servants arrive to help Grace with the children, strange and inexplicable occurrences take place. It becomes apparent that their house is haunted and their lives are in danger. Grace must protect her family and uncover the mystery of the Others before it is too late.

The Conjuring is a 2013 American supernatural horror film directed by James Wan.
