Up is a 2009 American animated comedy-drama adventure film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Directed by Pete Docter and Bob Peterson, the film centers on a 78-year-old widower named Carl Fredricksen and an earnest young Wilderness Explorer named Russell. By tying thousands of balloons to his house, Carl sets out to fulfill his dream to see the wilds of South America and to complete a promise made to his late wife, Ellie. The film received universal acclaim from critics and audiences alike and was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, making it the second animated film in history to receive such a nomination. It won Best Animated Feature, along with Best Original Score and Best Original Song for "Down" performed by Michael Giacchino. The film also received recognition from numerous other organizations and festivals, including the Golden Globe Awards, Kids' Choice Awards, and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.

The Crow is a 1994 American supernatural action film directed by Alex Proyas, starring Brandon Lee in his final film appearance. The Crow was based on James O'Barr's 1989 comic book of the same name. The story follows Eric Draven, a rock musician who is resurrected from the dead by a supernatural crow one year after his and his fiancée's murder. With the help of the crow, he seeks out his killers and makes them pay for their crimes. Along the way, he must battle a dangerous criminal underworld and face off against a mysterious figure known as Top Dollar, who has a vendetta against him. In the end, Eric's spirit is released to reunite with his beloved Shelly. The Crow is an intense, darkly beautiful, and emotionally powerful film that speaks to the power of love and the will to avenge it.
