The King's Speech is a 2010 British biographical drama directed by Tom Hooper, starring Colin Firth as Prince Albert, later King George VI. After his brother King Edward VIII abdicates the throne, Albert is forced to take the throne and thus become the King of England. He struggles with a speech impediment and is unable to speak in public. With the country on the brink of war, the King must find a way to overcome his stammer and give a speech that will inspire a nation.
