As the novel progresses and Annie’s obsession with Paul intensifies, his only hope for freedom is to finish the book and find a way to escape. Misery is a thrilling and terrifying story of the lengths an obsessed fan will go to possess the object of their obsession.

When one of the college kids gets separated from her friends and ends up at the cabin, the two men try to help her, but the misunderstanding leads to a bloody battle of wits between the college kids and the hillbillies. The film is packed with gory carnage, witty dialogue, and hilarious misadventures that make it a cult classic.
