Terminator 2: Judgment Day is a 1991 American science fiction action film directed by James Cameron and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator, a cyborg assassin sent back in time to protect John Connor, played by Edward Furlong, from a more advanced Terminator, the T-1000, played by Robert Patrick. The film follows Sarah Connor and her son as they struggle to protect John from the T-1000 and its mission to kill him and prevent the rise of the future resistance. In the year 2029, the computer network Skynet launches a nuclear attack on humanity, leading to a post-apocalyptic future. In an effort to prevent this future, the resistance sends a reprogrammed Terminator back to protect John in the year 1995. With the help of a human ally, the T-800, Sarah and John fight to stop Skynet and save the future.

To stop the Terminator, a soldier from the future named Kyle Reese (Biehn) is also sent back in time to protect Sarah and prevent the Terminator from succeeding in its mission. As they battle the Terminator, Sarah and Kyle must also survive a relentless pursuit across time and space, ultimately leading them to a final confrontation with the unstoppable killing machine.
