The Conjuring (2013) is a supernatural horror film directed by James Wan. The story follows the Warrens, a husband and wife paranormal investigator team, as they travel to a rural farmhouse in Rhode Island to help a family terrorized by a dark presence. The Warrens soon discover that the house is haunted by a malicious spirit, known as the “Perron Entity”, and the family quickly falls into chaos. The Warrens fight to protect the family and rid the house of the spirit, but not without danger and peril. With the help of Ed and Lorraine Warren, the family must confront the supernatural forces haunting their home and confront their own fears.

Beetlejuice is a 1988 American comedy-fantasy film directed by Tim Burton, starring Michael Keaton as the title character. After Barbara and Adam Maitland (Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin) die in a car accident, they find themselves stuck haunting their country residence, unable to leave the house. When a yuppie family, the Deetzes (Catherine O'Hara, Jeffrey Jones, and Winona Ryder), and their interior designer, Otho (Glenn Shadix), buy the house, the Maitlands attempt to scare them away without success. Their efforts attract Beetlejuice, a rambunctious spirit whose "professional services" are engaged by the Deetzes. Beetlejuice's trickster nature makes him difficult to control, and he causes chaos in the lives of the Deetzes and Maitlands alike. Ultimately, the Maitlands are able to scare away the Deetzes with the help of Beetlejuice, allowing them to enjoy eternal rest in their beloved home.
