Along the way, he must rely on the help of his crewmates, who are still on their way back to Earth, and the support of the international community. The Martian is a thrilling exploration of science, engineering and the human spirit in the face of unthinkable adversity.

Quaid discovers he was a secret agent sent on a mission to save Mars from a despotic ruler, and now must fight off assassins and travel to Mars to finish the mission. Along the way, he uncovers a number of shocking revelations about his true identity and the people he thought he could trust. Featuring an excellent blend of action, sci-fi, and comedy, Total Recall is an excellent example of Verhoeven’s work and an underrated classic of the sci-fi action genre.
