The film is set in 1936 Chicago, where two professional grifters, Johnny Hooker (Redford) and Henry Gondorff (Newman), seek revenge on the notorious mobster Doyle Lonnegan, who was responsible for their mentor's death. In their attempt to get even with Lonnegan, the two con men devise an elaborate sting operation to take Lonnegan for all his money. With the help of a ragtag team of con artists, the two stage a poker game that Lonnegan cannot resist. As the stakes get higher and higher, the stakes of the game increase, forcing the two to match wits with the criminal mastermind. In the end, Johnny and Henry come out on top, taking Lonnegan for a very large sum of money. With the money, they can start a new life and put their pasts behind them.

Casino is a 1995 American crime film directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Robert De Niro, Sharon Stone, and Joe Pesci. It is based on the non-fiction book Casino: Love and Honor in Las Vegas by Nicholas Pileggi. The film follows Sam "Ace" Rothstein, a Jewish American, top gambling handicapper, who is asked by the Chicago Outfit to oversee the day-to-day operations at the Tangiers Casino in Las Vegas. Ace's life quickly becomes complicated when his friend and business partner, Nicky Santoro, begins to show more ambition and reckless behavior. Ace also has to deal with the pressure from the mob, as well as his complicated relationship with Ginger McKenna. The film features a number of storylines, highlighting the lives of the characters and their interactions with the mob, the police, and each other. The film ultimately follows Ace's descent into a downward spiral of corruption and betrayal, leading to his eventual downfall.

The film was released in the United Kingdom on 16 November 2006 and in the United States on 17 November 2006. Ben continues his mission of self-destruction while Sera falls in love with him, hoping to save him from his self-destructive tendencies. In the end, Ben does not find redemption, but he and Sera do find the love and understanding they need in each other.
