Guardians of the Galaxy is a 2014 science fiction action film directed by James Gunn and based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. The film follows Peter Quill, an intergalactic scavenger, as he meets a group of misfits known as the Guardians of the Galaxy. After finding an all-powerful orb coveted by a mysterious villain called Ronan the Accuser, they must band together to stop him from using it to destroy the universe. Along the way, they must contend with a revenge-seeking alien named Gamora, a wise-cracking raccoon called Rocket, a tree-like humanoid called Groot, and a vengeful warrior called Drax. Together, they must use their newfound friendship and their extraordinary abilities to save the galaxy from Ronan and his villainous forces.

Hot Fuzz is a 2007 British action comedy starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. It follows the story of Nicholas Angel, a highly competent London police officer who is transferred to a small rural village in England. Although initially scoffed at by his new colleagues, Angel soon realizes that something sinister is afoot in the village and must use all of his skills and ingenuity to uncover the mystery. Hot Fuzz is an exciting and hilarious movie that combines action and comedy with a smart and clever script.

The Hangover is a 2009 American comedy film directed by Todd Phillips and written by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore. It stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha, Heather Graham, and Jeffrey Tambor. The story follows a group of four friends who travel to Las Vegas for a bachelor party, only to wake up the next morning with no memory of the previous night's events and the bachelor missing. The group must then retrace their steps in an attempt to figure out what happened, while also being pursued by a police officer and a mysterious gangster. The film is a critical and commercial success, and is now considered one of the best comedies of the 2000s. It spawned two sequels, The Hangover Part II (2011) and The Hangover Part III (2013).

Superbad is a coming of age comedy centering on two socially inept high school seniors, Seth (Jonah Hill) and Evan (Michael Cera). As they prepare to go their separate ways for college, the two promise to make one last attempt to lose their virginity before graduation. With the help of their drunken friend Fogell (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) and a fake ID, the three hatch a plan to get alcohol for the big party of the summer. As the night progresses, events spiral out of control as the boys' quest for alcohol leads to a series of embarrassing and chaotic encounters with cops, partygoers, and their own hormones. Despite the hilarity, Superbad also addresses themes of growing up and friendship, as Seth and Evan come to terms with their impending adulthood.

Kick-Ass is a 2010 British-American superhero comedy film based on the comic book of the same name by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. The film follows Dave Lizewski, a teenage boy who sets out to become a real-life superhero. Despite having no superpowers, Dave dons a green-and-yellow wetsuit and takes to the streets as "Kick-Ass". He soon meets up with a pair of amateur crime-fighters, Big Daddy and Hit Girl, who take him under their wing and help him on his mission to take down local mob boss Frank D'Amico. With the help of his new friends, Dave must face off against D'Amico and his henchmen in a thrilling, action-packed finale.
