Anderson then joins a group of rebels led by Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) and Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) who are fighting to free humanity from the Matrix and its controllers, a mysterious group of artificially intelligent machines. With help from the Oracle (Gloria Foster), Anderson learns the truth about the Matrix and the real world, and is forced to make a difficult decision that will determine the fate of humanity. The Matrix features groundbreaking special effects, fast-paced action sequences, and a thought-provoking plot.

Avatar is set in the year 2154 on the planet Pandora, a lush jungle world that is inhabited by the Na'vi, a humanoid species. Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), a paraplegic ex-marine, is sent to Pandora to take the place of his deceased twin brother as an avatar driver. Through his avatar, a genetically engineered human-Na'vi hybrid, Jake is able to travel freely in Pandora's world and quickly learns to appreciate its beauty and way of life. At the same time, the human military, led by Colonel Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang), is intent on mining Pandora's reserves of a precious mineral called unobtanium. This leads to a bitter conflict between the humans and the Na'vi, in which Jake finds himself caught in the middle. Jake must ultimately decide where his allegiances lie, and if he will remain loyal to his human counterparts or join the Na'vi in their struggle against the humans. With the help of a female Na'vi, Neytiri (Zoe Saldana), and her people, Jake leads a fierce battle in an effort to save Pandora from the human invaders.

With the help of a femme fatale (Barbara Valentin), Stiller must fight against the all-powerful forces that seek to control the virtual world, while also dealing with his own personal struggles and the difficulties of maintaining his relationships with his girlfriend (Mascha Rabben) and his colleagues (Karl Heinz Vosgerau). Through his investigations, Stiller begins to realize that the system of Simulacron-3 is more complex and dangerous than he ever expected, and that it may be up to him to save the world.
