The Crow is a dark fantasy action-thriller film released in 1994. Directed by Alex Proyas, the film is based on the comic book series of the same name by James O'Barr, and stars Brandon Lee in his last performance before his death. The story follows Eric Draven (Brandon Lee), a musician who is brutally murdered, along with his fiancée, on the eve of their wedding. One year later, a mystical crow brings him back to life so he can exact revenge on those responsible for his and his fiancée's deaths. Throughout the film, Eric fights against the criminals of the city and meets various characters who help him along the way. He eventually comes face to face with the man responsible for his death, Top Dollar (Michael Wincott), and his gang of thugs. The film was released to positive reviews, and it was a commercial success. It was also nominated for several awards, including the Saturn Award for Best Fantasy Film and the MTV Movie Award for Best Movie. The Crow remains a cult classic to this day and has spawned several sequels, as well as a television series.
