Les Misérables is a 2012 British-American musical drama film directed by Tom Hooper and based on the 1862 French novel of the same name by Victor Hugo. The movie also follows the story of the student revolutionary, Marius (Eddie Redmayne), who joins a group of young idealists as they fight for a better France. The film features an all-star cast singing songs from the stage musical, including "I Dreamed a Dream", "On My Own", and "One Day More". Les Misérables is an emotional, inspiring story of redemption and a powerful reminder of the strength of the human spirit.
