Aliens is a 1986 sci-fi action horror film directed by James Cameron and starring Sigourney Weaver. The film is a sequel to Ridley Scott's 1979 classic Alien. In the film, Ellen Ripley (Weaver) is rescued after being in suspended animation for 57 years. She is then recruited by a group of marines to help them on a mission to destroy a dangerous alien species that has infested a planetoid. After arriving, they discover that the aliens have laid waste to a terraforming colony and the surviving colonists are in danger of being wiped out. Ripley and the marines must battle the aliens, while also trying to escape the planetoid alive. Aliens is widely acclaimed and is considered one of the greatest action films ever made. It won an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects and was nominated for seven other Oscars. The film has also spawned multiple sequels and spin-offs, as well as inspiring a variety of different media, from comics to video games.

Shaun of the Dead is a 2004 British zombie comedy directed by Edgar Wright. The film follows Shaun, an electronics store employee, who is enduring a midlife crisis. After his girlfriend dumps him, and he is kicked out of his apartment, Shaun decides to turn his life around and make something of himself. However, his plan takes an unexpected turn when a zombie apocalypse breaks out and Shaun must battle for his life and the lives of his friends and family. With the help of his best friend Ed, Shaun embarks on a mission to save his mother and stepfather, Shaun's ex-girlfriend, and get to the safe haven of the local pub. Along the way, Shaun and Ed must battle hordes of zombies, dodge the local police and outwit Shaun's stepfather. The movie is filled with humor, outrageous moments, and an unforgettable cast of characters.

Saw is a 2004 American psychological horror film directed by James Wan and co-written by Leigh Whannell. It follows two men, Adam Stanheight (Leigh Whannell) and Dr. Lawrence Gordon (Cary Elwes), who are chained in a large abandoned industrial bathroom and forced to play a game of life or death by a serial killer known as Jigsaw. The two men must work together to solve a series of deadly puzzles and riddles in order to survive. Meanwhile, Detective David Tapp (Danny Glover) and his partner, Detective Steven Sing (Ken Leung), investigate the case and are determined to stop Jigsaw's deadly game. As the plot unfolds, it becomes apparent that Jigsaw has a much larger agenda, with the lives of many more people hanging in the balance.

Zombieland is a 2009 zombie comedy directed by Ruben Fleischer and starring Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin. It follows a group of survivors in a post-apocalyptic United States who have joined forces in order to survive the zombie invasion. The group, consisting of Columbus (Eisenberg), Tallahassee (Harrelson), Wichita (Stone), and Little Rock (Breslin) travel across the country in search of a safe haven. Along the way, they encounter other survivors, as well as zombies and various other dangers. As the four make their way, they also learn important lessons about friendship and loyalty. Ultimately, the group must band together to face the zombie onslaught and survive.

Dead Alive is a 1992 horror-comedy directed by Peter Jackson. The film follows Lionel, a young man living with his overbearing mother who finds himself in a bizarre and dangerous situation when his mother is bitten by a Sumatran rat-monkey. Lionel discovers the bite has infected her with a horrifying virus that turns her into a zombie, and soon the zombie plague begins to spread to his neighbors and the local townspeople. In order to protect the town, Lionel must fight off hordes of the undead with a lawnmower and other various weapons. Along the way, he meets up with his love interest, Paquita, and together they must find a way to save the town and Lionel's mother from a fate worse than death.

The Conjuring is a 2013 supernatural horror film directed by James Wan. It tells the story of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, who are called to help the Perron family, who are experiencing increasingly disturbing events in their home. The Warrens soon discover that the house is haunted by a malevolent spirit. In order to save the family, the Warrens must find out the spirit's connection to the family and how to expel it from the house. The film also touches on the true story of the Warrens' involvement in the infamous Amityville Horror case. The Conjuring is a suspenseful and terrifying horror film filled with jump scares and intense moments which will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
