The Shining is a psychological horror film directed by Stanley Kubrick and based on Stephen King's 1977 novel of the same name. Wendy and Danny soon find themselves in a frantic and desperate struggle to survive Jack's descent into madness. As Jack's madness and violence reach a fever pitch, the hotel is revealed to contain a terrifying supernatural presence that has been manipulating Jack all along. In the end, Wendy and Danny must escape the hotel as it goes up in flames, leaving Jack's fate unknown.
